Instagram has been rolling out some exciting updates and features over the past few months, enhancing user experience and privacy.
One of the latest announced features is profile cards. Instead of typing in usernames to find connections, users can now create custom QR codes for quick and easy discoverability.
Also: Facebook will show you more content from outside your friends list (but that might not be a bad thing)
The functionality is similar to digital payment apps like Venmo and Cash App, where users share profiles. Instagram’s profile card includes a scannable QR code on one side and the user’s IG handle, profile picture, bio, and favorite song on the other.
Instagram describes it as a digital business card where users can showcase their information and connect with others in a sleek package. It’s a great networking tool and a way to make new friends with shared interests.
How to Customize Your IG Profile Card
- Go to your profile and tap “Share Profile.” Your profile card will generate automatically (note: the feature may take some time to roll out globally).
- Click the edit icon to update your profile details, add music, contact/project links, and change the background image.
- Share your profile card using the available options.
