The Latest Buzz: TikTok’s Expanded Subscription Feature for Creators
TikTok is making waves by expanding its subscription option for creators, allowing more users to build an audience of paying subscribers within the app. This move follows the initial launch of subscriptions for live creators in 2022. Earlier this year, at the U.S. creator summit, TikTok announced plans to extend subscriptions to non-live creators as well.
Now, TikTok is broadening the availability of this feature to even more creators on the platform. This means more opportunities for creators to connect with their audience and offer exclusive content.

According to TikTok, the new subscription feature will allow creators to offer exclusive perks, unique experiences, and access to a members-only community for a monthly fee. Creators can customize their subscription packages into three different pricing tiers with a variety of benefits tailored to their audience.
- Private Communication Channels – Direct interaction with subscribers through Sub Space, chats, comments, and messages.
- Exclusive Content – Special videos, live streams, and notes exclusively for subscribers.
- Community Identifiers – Unique stickers for live streams and badges to highlight subscribers on profiles.
- Customized Perks – Ready-made perks provided by TikTok or custom perks designed by the creator.
Eligible creators must be 18 years or older, have an account in good standing, and meet follower and view thresholds to access this feature. While it may cater more to larger accounts, TikTok’s expanded subscription offering aims to foster community connections and provide additional revenue opportunities for creators in the app.
Monetizing short-form video content can be challenging, and TikTok recognizes the need to offer diverse monetization options to keep creators engaged. The expanded subscription feature is set to roll out to eligible creators in select regions over the coming weeks.
