Discover the Latest Cyber Threat Landscape Insights from ESET Experts
17 May 2024
ESET experts have recently unveiled groundbreaking research publications shedding light on various notable cyber campaigns and trends in the evolving threat landscape.
One of the key highlights is the APT Activity Report, offering insights into sophisticated attacks investigated by ESET researchers between October 2023 and March 2024. The report delves into targeted countries, industry verticals, initial access methods, and attack sources.
Additionally, ESET’s documentation of the Ebury attacks exposes a long-standing server-side malware campaign that has compromised an extensive number of servers over 15 years. Intrusions have extended to include credit card and cryptocurrency theft.
Further research uncovered two new backdoors, named LunarWeb and LunarMail, targeting a European ministry of foreign affairs and its diplomatic missions. The Lunar toolset, likely attributed to the Turla cyberespionage group, has been operational since at least 2020.
