Samsung Introduces Smart Forward Updates to Revolutionize Home Appliances
Samsung is taking home appliance innovation to the next level with the launch of its new ‘Smart Forward’ updates. These updates bring cutting-edge functionalities, enhanced safety features, and improved energy efficiency to existing appliances worldwide.
In an exciting announcement, Miyoung Yoo, EVP and Head of the Software Development Team for Samsung’s Digital Appliances Business, expressed her enthusiasm for the latest Smart Forward updates. She stated, “After years of research and development focused on enhancing the home user experience, we are delighted to introduce these updates to our range of appliances globally.”
The new features included in the updates cater to a wide range of appliances, with a special focus on the Family Hub refrigerator. Users can expect features like Quick Share, Buds Auto Switch, and Fridge Call, all designed to elevate the user experience and performance of their appliances.
Quick Share allows for seamless photo sharing from mobile devices to the Family Hub screen, while Buds Auto Switch ensures a smooth transition between audio sources when using Galaxy Buds. Fridge Call enables users to receive phone calls directly on the Family Hub, enhancing communication within the home.
These updates will be available on refrigerators equipped with the Family Hub feature from 2017 onwards.

Another notable update is the enhanced Bixby voice assistant, which now supports multiple commands and has improved conversational abilities. This feature will debut on select 2024 products, including the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub and the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo.
In addition, Samsung is introducing safety and energy-saving updates to older models, prioritizing user convenience and efficiency. These updates include features like temperature alerts after power outages, customizable chimes for notifications, and energy-efficient scheduling options.
By continuously enhancing the functionality and performance of its appliances, Samsung aims to provide customers with durable and future-proof solutions, reducing the need for frequent upgrades.
Samsung plans to roll out the Smart Forward updates globally in the second half of 2024.
