Predictably, this year’s RSA Conference is abuzz with talk of artificial intelligence, echoing the excitement from the previous year. The idea of AI solving all security problems has been the poster child for many security software companies, creating a wave of hype around the technology.
However, for ESET, the narrative is different. We have embraced AI as a tool in our arsenal for decades, leveraging it to enhance our security solutions rather than relying solely on it as a magic bullet. While AI can automate key aspects of defense mechanisms, it still requires human expertise and understanding to be truly effective.
AI in cybersecurity is not a silver bullet that can solve all problems on its own. It is more of an advanced automation process that complements human intelligence and expertise. While the technology continues to evolve and improve, it is crucial to understand its limitations and harness it effectively in conjunction with human knowledge.
For those interested in delving deeper into the power and constraints of AI in cybersecurity, a white paper on the subject is available here.
