Microsoft Addresses 90 Security Flaws in Latest Patch Tuesday Updates

Microsoft has released a comprehensive set of security updates to address a total of 90 vulnerabilities, with 10 of them being actively exploited in the wild. Among these vulnerabilities, six zero-days have been identified and patched with this update.

The Patch Tuesday updates also include fixes for 36 vulnerabilities in the Edge browser, showcasing Microsoft’s commitment to bolstering the security of its software ecosystem.

The six actively exploited zero-days that have been addressed in this update include:

  • CVE-2024-38189 (CVSS score: 8.8) – Microsoft Project Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

The release of these updates has led to the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) adding these vulnerabilities to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, emphasizing the importance of applying these fixes promptly.
