Welcome to Meta Connect Day!
Meta has just unveiled a wave of exciting updates on its latest technological innovations. From new Quest VR headsets to AR glasses, an updated Llama AI model, enhanced AI features in its apps, and more – Meta has left no stone unturned in its showcase.
Orion AR Glasses
The highlight of the event was Meta’s groundbreaking AR glasses named “Orion.” After five years of development, Meta has introduced what it calls the “most advanced pair of AR glasses ever made.”
According to Meta, Orion boasts the largest field of view in the smallest AR glasses form to date, promising a range of immersive experiences like never before.
While the design of the glasses may appear chunkier than regular sunglasses, Meta’s technological prowess has successfully compacted complex components into this small form factor. Although not currently available for public purchase, the glasses are in the hands of selected developers and Meta staff for testing, showcasing the progress in AR technology.
Meta’s AR glasses are expected to outshine competitors like Apple’s VisionPro and Snap’s latest AR glasses in terms of capabilities, usability, and affordability.
New Functionality for Ray Ban Meta Glasses
Meta’s Ray Ban smart glasses are also getting a facelift with improved voice commands and features that include memory assistance, translations, and more.
Quest 3S
Meta has also unveiled its latest Quest VR headset, the 3S model, offering similar capabilities to the Quest 3 at a more accessible price point, starting at just $299.99 USD.
Meta’s Horizon OS has been revamped to offer better support for key 2D apps like YouTube and improved spatial audio Passthrough elements, making the Quest 3S a promising gateway to mixed reality and immersive experiences.
From celebrity voices for Meta AI to enhanced AI translations, and innovative AI features for businesses, Meta is pushing the boundaries of AI integration across its platform, enriching user experiences and driving better results.
