BTQ Technologies acquires Radical Semiconductor’s PiM tech for accelerating Post-Quantum algorithms

Exciting news! BTQ Technologies has recently acquired Radical Semiconductor’s cutting-edge technology portfolio, including their groundbreaking CASH cryptographic accelerator that harnesses processing-in-memory technology. This strategic move is set to revolutionize post-quantum cryptography, especially as quantum computing progresses towards potentially compromising current encryption standards.

The innovative technology from Radical Semiconductor supports the implementation of emerging cryptographic algorithms, aiming to safeguard billions of devices against quantum security threats. By integrating Radical’s solutions, BTQ Technologies is poised to accelerate the development of scalable, quantum-secure communications for industries like IoT, financial services, and government entities.

Leadership at BTQ views this acquisition as a pivotal advancement in establishing quantum-secure infrastructure, while Radical’s founders are enthusiastic about the opportunity to protect critical infrastructure on a large scale. The timing aligns with the global shift towards post-quantum cryptography solutions, with NIST finalizing the first batch of post-quantum algorithms in August.

As part of their innovation in this space, BTQ has introduced a proprietary quantum signature algorithm called Preon, which is currently undergoing evaluation by NIST. The algorithm is in Round 1 of evaluation, and the community eagerly awaits NIST’s announcement on the algorithms progressing to Round 2 from the 40 submissions received.
