Saying Goodbye to AWS IoT Device Management Fleet Hub
Since its launch in 2020, AWS IoT Device Management Fleet Hub has been a valuable tool for businesses managing their IoT device fleets. It has helped streamline operations, enhance security, and improve efficiency. However, as technology advances, customer needs change, and we have made the decision to discontinue this feature. We want to give our customers ample time to plan and transition smoothly.
Transition Timeline for AWS IoT Device Management Fleet Hub
On October 18th, 2025, AWS will officially discontinue the Fleet Hub feature in a phased manner. While new customer onboarding stopped on October 17th, 2024, existing customers can still use Fleet Hub until the EoL date. After October 18th, 2025, Fleet Hub applications will be permanently decommissioned, but the underlying AWS resources will remain accessible through the console.
Managing Transition and Resources
After the EoL date, your Fleet Hub applications will be deleted, but the underlying AWS resources will not be automatically removed. You can access these resources independently through the AWS IoT console, CLI, or SDK. This change does not affect other AWS IoT Device Management capabilities.
Key Functionalities and How to Access Them
- Fleet connectivity state summary – Monitor device connectivity status via the IoT console.
- Fleet Hub alarms – Create and monitor alarms in CloudWatch directly from the console.
- Device search – Refine device search using filter criteria in the AWS IoT console.
- AWS IoT Jobs execution – Implement job executions from the remote actions tab in the console.
- Device detail view – Access detailed device info from the IoT console.
Deleting Applications and Resources
You can use the AWS console or DeleteApplication API to delete Fleet Hub applications. Follow specific steps to delete underlying resources like jobs, alarms, and SSO users from IAM Identity Center within the AWS Console.
