Exciting news for tech enthusiasts and automotive aficionados alike as Samsung teams up with renowned car manufacturers Hyundai and Kia to revolutionize connected vehicle experiences through advanced integration with SmartThings.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Paul (Kyungwhoon) Cheun, President and CTO of DX Division at Samsung Electronics, expressed his excitement: “Through our collaboration with Hyundai and Kia, customers will experience the convenience of SmartThings not only at home but also in their vehicles.”

The collaboration aims to introduce numerous features, including a global location solution using SmartThings Find, offering the ability to effortlessly locate vehicles and smart keys through a network of Galaxy devices, even in areas with poor cellular connectivity.

Drivers can look forward to controlling their car’s air conditioning and monitoring electric vehicle range directly from their Galaxy device’s Quick Panel. Additionally, the integration with the SmartThings ecosystem enables seamless control of home devices while on the go.

Exciting plans for the future include in-vehicle health monitoring, pet care solutions, and integration with smart apartment functionalities, aiming to enrich customer experiences beyond transportation.

Chang Song, President of Hyundai Motor Group Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division, shared insights into the vision: “Our goal is to enrich Hyundai Motor and Kia customers’ mobility experience by offering personalized services that seamlessly integrate vehicles with smartphones.”

The enhanced integration now includes a wider range of SDV capabilities, promising improved healthcare monitoring, optimized vehicle environments for pets, and integration with smart apartment solutions.

As tech giants and car manufacturers join forces, like in the Samsung-Hyundai-Kia alliance, the future of connected vehicles appears brighter than ever. Imagine intelligent vehicles seamlessly intertwining with our digital lifestyles, bringing unparalleled convenience and innovation to the road.
