Deutsche Telekom Joins Bridge Alliance to Boost Global IoT Presence

Deutsche Telekom is making significant strides in the IoT market by becoming a member of Bridge Alliance, a consortium of 35 mobile operators across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and now Europe.

This new partnership opens up a world of opportunities for Deutsche Telekom’s IoT subsidiary, granting access to Bridge Alliance’s expansive connectivity and value-added services, including cutting-edge IoT/M2M solutions.

As the first European telco to join the alliance, Deutsche Telekom is paving the way towards becoming a leading global provider of IoT connectivity services. This move enables seamless entry into the flourishing Asia-Pacific market for international businesses, especially those operating in the rapidly growing Asian electric vehicle industry.

Dennis Nikles, Managing Director of Deutsche Telekom IoT, stated, “We are thrilled to join forces with Bridge Alliance and combine the collective expertise of all members to deliver the best connectivity solutions to our customers worldwide.”

This collaboration simplifies the process of deploying IoT solutions on a global scale, eliminating the need for individual agreements with local providers. Deutsche Telekom’s T IoT Hub serves as a central hub for managing all IoT connections, offering a streamlined approach with a single contract, service team, and access point.

Bridge Alliance ensures compliance with local regulations and data sovereignty issues by providing local connectivity under global contracts, thereby simplifying international operations for businesses.

Deutsche Telekom’s partnership with Bridge Alliance aligns with its overarching “network of networks” strategy, which includes recent initiatives such as Satellite IoT tariffs and roaming agreements with over 600 international partners.

Furthermore, the collaboration with T-Mobile in the US enhances Deutsche Telekom’s global footprint by leveraging a range of technologies, including satellite, NB-IoT, LTE-M, 4G, and 5G, to ensure reliable connectivity worldwide.
